The Legacy Theater will pay tribute to the late Latin music singer Selena on Friday at 7 p.m., and tickets are now available to purchase for the show.
“Los Chicos del 512: the Selena Experience” features vocalist Keila Marymar Martinez. Martinez, a native of San Luis, Arizona, honed her musical skills by participating in the marching band at her high school as well as singing and playing the violin in a mariachi group. Martinez is also fluent in Spanish.
In 2014, Martinez and an incredible ensemble of Selena’s musical collaborators joined together to re-create the enchantment of Selena’s songs for both longtime and new admirers all over the world.
The posthumous album “Dreaming of You” by Selena was released in 1995 and became the first album by a Latin singer to debut in the top 200 on the Billboard chart. She is one of the most successful female musicians in the history of Latin music, with record sales of about 18 million copies across the globe.
