Tom Holland has acknowledged that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is the greatest Spider-Man film ever produced. Would then Spider-Man viewers see Peter Parker and Miles Morales in the same film?
Similarly to the conclusion of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, this is an open-ended inquiry. (Also Read: Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse Review: A Delightful Superhero Film Stuck in a Routine Franchise Sequel)
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal stated that, despite the fact that Miles Morales’ Spider-Verse franchise and Tom Holland’s Peter Parker franchise are “completely separate words,” she cannot rule out the possibility of combining them.
Pascal states, “Never say no to anything,” before implying that there is still a long way to go, as she has many films to produce for each individual project.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man’s future
In the same interview, Tom confirmed that a fourth installment of his Spider-Man franchise exists. Amy, the president of Marvel Studios, and he have been discussing the query, “Why would we do this again?” in recent meetings. Tom stated that they appeared to have discovered the solution.
However, the prospect is not without apprehension. There is a stigma associated with the fourth installment in all franchises.
Tom stated, “I feel as though we hit a home run with our first franchise, and a part of me wants to walk away with my head held high and pass the baton to the next lucky kid who gets to bring this character to life.”
Previous Spider-Men’s demise
Andrew Garfield, who preceded Tom as the protagonist in The Amazing Spider-Man franchise, was replaced by Tom after the second installment underperformed. Tom remarked that he admires Andrew for reviving his acting career after a significant setback and receiving two Oscar nominations as a result.
Tobey Maguire also enjoyed a successful three-part franchise as the first Spider-Man. In the recent film Spider-Man: No Way Home, the three actors who have previously portrayed Spider-Men reunite.
Holland disclosed that the three of them have a WhatsApp group dubbed ‘Spider-Boys.’ “As three people who have been through a truly unique experience, we have this incredible bond that makes us feel like brothers,” Holland said.
