When the 2023 edition of Reggae Sumfest takes place on July 21 and 22 at Catherine Hall in Montego Bay, it will be the sixth year that the festival has been live-streamed.
Digital access has afforded fans more ways to interact with entertainment, resulting in a nearly tripling of viewership during this time period.
At the launch of Reggae Sumfest’s 30th anniversary at the Iberostar Hotel on Wednesday, Flow’s acting director of marketing, Latoy Lawrence, stated that the symbiosis between technology and entertainment can create new fan experiences while expanding the fan base.
“Reggae Sumfest provides a great way for Flow to support our musical culture while integrating our core products and services that will enhance the Sumfest experience,” said Lawrence.
“For a variety of factors, more fans are opting for the virtual concert experience, and our network has the capability to deliver Sumfest directly to the fans via their mobile devices or home entertainment.
Virtual concerts offer a one-of-a-kind experience, and we are committed to working with all of our collaborators to provide the greatest possible virtual concert experience.”
The Internet, which transmits content directly to consumers, is at the heart of this convergence between entertainment and technology.
Flow is back to Reggae Sumfest to increase the festival’s online presence.
Lawrence added that Flow’s unlimited Prepaid data plans, as well as its Ya’ad and Road plans, can provide customers with quick and dependable access to the simulcast.
Joe Bogdanovich, the CEO of Reggae Sumfest, acknowledged that Flow has been a valuable partner throughout the event’s 30-year history and a significant contributor to its success.
“We are thankful and delighted to have Flow as our technology partner once again this year,” said Bogdanovich.
In addition to the two primary evenings, Flow will directly activate on July 20 at Pier 1 for the Global Sound Clash.
The company will also support the Family Funday Community Fest on July 16 at Catherine Hall through the Flow Foundation.
Flow is a platinum sponsor of Reggae Sumfest and is the official technology partner for the third consecutive year.
The communications and entertainment provider announced that it has renewed its partnership with Reggae Sumfest, which includes powering the livestream and activating Wi-Fi at its exhibit so that attendees can share content instantaneously. Additionally, Flow will provide the necessary technology for the ticket kiosk, media room, and bar sales to ensure a seamless operation.
