A Texas grand jury has indicted a man on murder charges for allegedly shooting and killing the rapper Takeoff.
The 28-year-old hip-hop artist, whose actual name was Kirsnick Khari Ball, was fatally shot outside of a bowling alley in Houston in November of last year. Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, was apprehended in December on suspicion of firing the fatal shots and is now awaiting trial.
Carl Moore, Clark’s attorney, has asserted that a jury will find his client innocent, stating, “Today’s action by the grand jury is not unanticipated. We would like to remind everyone that obtaining an indictment requires satisfying an extremely low burden of proof.

“When we get inside a courtroom and in front of a jury, where we will be able to present our evidence and cross-examine the state’s witnesses, and where the burden of proof is guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, we anticipate that the jury will return a verdict of not guilty.”
Before he was fatally shot outside a Houston bowling establishment on November 1 at approximately 2:30 a.m., the Migos rapper was celebrating with his uncle and bandmate Quavo.
Later, the police stated that the celebrity was unarmed and an innocent bystander when he was struck by gunfire. Two other victims of the gunfire survived their wounds.
In January, Clark was released from the Harris County Jail after posting a $1 million surety. Since then, he has been under house arrest while wearing a GPS ankle monitor.
