Scarlett Johansson has disclosed that she and Chris Evans visited Jeremy Renner, who was involved in a near-fatal accident on January 1 after being crushed by a seven-ton snowcat.
Variety reports that the ‘Hawkeye’ actor suffered more than 30 fractures, orthopedic injuries, and traumatic chest trauma while attempting to rescue his nephew from a snowdrift.
“I was genuinely so effing ecstatic to see him. “I had no idea if I would ever see him again,” Johansson said.
She revealed in a cover story for ‘Variety’ that her 30-year career has included eight Marvel films, including several co-starring Renner.
She added, “Not only to see him again, but also to see him thriving and in such an incredible mental state. In general, he is an extremely spiritual and soulful individual. And this is evident in his work. It becomes apparent. He has incredible profundity. I was ecstatic to discover that he is full of life and light, as well as amusing. We had many laughs.”
Variety reports that Evans, who first worked with Johansson when she was a teenager in the crime film ‘The Perfect Score,’ describes what transpired during an unannounced reconciliation between the three actors.
“No weeping whatsoever. “There were many laughs, smiles, and hugs,” Evans said.
“Only Jeremy could transform something so potentially tragic into something so inspiring.”
