One of the most feared combatants in history is the Marine Corps. Aspiring military members in high school or college who are thinking about enlisting in the Corps are always searching for any information that may be useful to them. Here are my own thoughts on the benefits of joining the Marines.

1. In terms of military combat weaponry training, the Marine Corps is the finest.
The Marine Corps is essentially an invading army that can be dispatched into any part of the world and put a boot on someone’s neck in less than a day. Though every branch believes it is at the top, Marines are typically the first to engage an opponent that is determined to fight back. Airstrikes, drones, artillery, tanks, close air support, naval gunfire, and every other weapon their commanding officer can obtain will all be used by the Marines to destroy the enemy with overwhelming force.
The concept of the word moderation is lost on Marines.
2. Marines are not as stupid as they appear
The idea that Marines chew on crayons because they’re stupid is a running joke throughout the military community, particularly when it comes to the infantry and combat MOSs. The bulk of my unit has degrees in STEM professions after serving their time, and my platoon commander attended Yale. Despite the dire state of the economy, not a single one of my veteran Marine friends is unemployed. Hell, one of them was in our army battalion and now works for NASA as an engineer.
If you are foolish, life is difficult. Who is this imbecile that eats crayons now?
3. We own the most attractive dress uniform.
The Dress Blues of the Marine Corps Among all the military’s dress uniforms, Alphas are without a doubt the sharpest. Upgrades to your uniform that correspond with our tradition, such as the blood stripe or the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor on the belt, become available as you advance in rank. The reason Cuba shows up on the enlisted EGA and not the officer’s is one example of the meticulous attention to detail that makes Marines famous. Marines adore Marine trivia because it serves as inspiration rather than irritation.
4. The origin of our branch was at a bar.
In particular, Tun Tavern, as that’s the place you’d find the saltiest, hardest-bitten individuals ready to fight in a conflict. Since drinking and fighting are what Marines are greatest at, most of our traditions include alcohol, including Mess Night, the Marine Corps Ball, and every Saturday.
5. You’ll be in top physical condition.
Being physically fit is fundamental to our identity as Marines. We have rigorous weight and height requirements, daily physical training, and a big part of your future promotion will depend on how well you physically perform. Consider earning money from your love of working out.
6. You most likely will see the world
Marines are sent to all regions and climates. Additionally, American embassies are defended by Marines across the globe. You can be stationed anywhere in the globe as an MSG (Marine Corps Security Guard), which is the MOS name. While you could have to deploy to a combat zone in other MOS, with MSG, you might wind up somewhere pleasant like Germany or Japan. Make careful to enquire about non-deployable MOS prior to signing any contracts.
7. The finest storytellers are Marines
Marines have been in the field long enough to be able to share wise counsel, a cautionary tale, or an entertaining anecdote about their adventures with women who have questionable moral character. When we do get downtime, it’s usually to rush and wait. There are moments when nothing much can be done but wait for the trucks to arrive.
